Congrats to The Lime Truck!

A big CONGRATS to the boys of The Lime Truck! They won Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race with a grand prize of $100,000. I’m sure that even splitting up the prize amongst the three of them and after taxes, it’s still a nice chunk of change. However the success of The Lime Truck already has them ahead.
A passion for good fresh food, creativity and a luv for their customers will take them far. Chef Jason Quinn will be opening a place of his own in Downtown Santa Ana called Playground. There he will highlight a nice selection of gourmet burgers and crafted beers. The new place will be just a few doors down from the recently renovated Yost Theater.
With the news of opening a new place, I kinda had a clue that they possibly may have won the show. They have been very quiet about details about their new place, but now that the wraps are off and they have won, I think they can be a bit more open about their plans.
General Manger Dan Shemtob and Chef Jesse Brockman were also on the truck and if they did split the money, I’m sure Dan will re-invest it back into The Lime Truck enterprise. With two trucks running in the OC, they have gotten good presence and exposure. I have had a hard time being to get out there to visit the truck, but they will be in Irvine again on Thursday at the Lunch truck gathering at 60 Technology at Alton from 11:30-2:00pm. If you work in the area please get yourself out there and have some great food.
Congratulate the boys and see why they won the show! :)
