Dinner In Disguise – Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli
Tonight’s meal was another grocery find. Buitoni (we’ve all seen the commercials) has released a line of frozen meals. I was shopping at my local market and they caught my eye as I have never seen them before. Buitoni has a Shrimp and Lobster Ravioli with a Garlic Butter Sauce.
The instructions are simple. The sauce is in a plastic pouch. You warm the frozen packet in boiling water. Meanwhile you add the frozen ravioli to the water and bring to a boil. When the ravioli floats in the water (about 5 minutes) both the sauce and ravioli are ready. I was pleasantly surprised to find nice chunks of real lobster and shrimp. My slight disappointment is the sauce packet that came with it. Way too much garlic for my tastes. I would have been happy with a simple cream sauce. If Garlic is not your friend, make your own sauce. As for the ravioli themselves, the pasta was firm, yet light. Each ravioli had a good amount of filling, which surprised me. A tip, drain these well as they retained alot of water. This made the sauce a bit watered down, but the garlic still came through quite well.
So for $9.99 you have enough for 4 (1 and 3 leftover meals)! :)

Man I wish Chef Boyardee made something like this, lol. Seriously though, your Ravioli looks great.
I am a huge fan of Italian food and Buitoni products. I especially like there braised beef and sausage ravioli. If you haven’t tried it I suggest you do – it is awesome. I also like there different types of
tortellini. There wide variety of pasta products makes it easy to whip up a “gourmet” meal rather quickly… For me the more garlic the better.

This looks very good. I really like Italian food. My favorite is lobster and shrimp. I agree with what Ray says above ” The more garlic the better”.
Haha, what a coincidence! We actually saw Buitoni while shopping at the store today and my gf wanted to try it out, I said lets read up on it first — and here I am! Great site! :)
It’s hard to believe you can find good, foodie-friendly foods boxed and frozen! Just goes to show that good food can rear its delicious head anywhere, and a lesson against food snobbery.
just with the mere picture of the food, it increases my salivation and realize that I want to try it myself now. I really love to eat especially sea food delicacies. I think this will taste really really great!
