The Hybrid knife sharperner is indeed one of those practical but non-aesthetic equipment you might want to store away in the designer kitchen, when not in use. It serves the factor of practicality and functionality well however, as a good-looking kitchen needs to function at the same time – this cannot be neglected.

I just got my knife sharpener and I'm thoroughly satisfied! I hate dull knives and now I won't have any. This was a Christmas present to myself.

I'm no amateur chef pretender, so don't need anything fancy. All I want is a decent edge that can slice a tomato without having to use the point of the knife to get started. This looks like a decent alternative to the pricier Chef's Choice sharpeners. Could go totally manual, but for a few dollars more this should save enough time to justify the expense. The 210 model is available at Amazon for 29.95, $10 less than the 220. Should be writing this after, not before the purchase, but it helps to clarify my thinking. BTW Costco has the 115 for just 99.99 – a very nice 3-stage unit, but it's a budget buster for me.
