Farm Fresh To You is a new Community Supported Agriculture program here in Southern California. I joined them in Late September and wanted to see how the vegetables and fruits were before writing about my deliveries.
I have to say that I have been very happy with my deliveries. All the deliveries have been on-time and I have not been disappointed in my delivery. They literally FILL the box to the brim with fresh produce picked right off the fields. I have had wonderful rainbow chard, carrots, apples, pears, plums, broccoli, heirloom tomatoes, potatoes and more. They have several delivery options and I have opted for the Small Mixed Fruit and Vegetable box which is $23.00. My delivery schedule is every two weeks.
Here is an example of their pricing, and remember the price includes delivery:
Mixed Fruit and Veggies
Small $23.00 – Feeds 1-2 people
Regular $31.50
More $44.00
Monster $55.00
They also have an option called Easy To Eat, mostly fruits but also includes vegetables that can be eaten without cooking. You can also choose an All Fruit or All Veggie selection. Go to their website to check out all their options.
You can choose the frequency of delivery, once a week, every two weeks or monthly – YOU CHOOSE and you can change at any time. If you want to get a bigger box, no problem, just let them know 48 hours ahead of your delivery day. They are very accommodating and if there is something that isn’t to your liking in your delivery, they will bring you something you do like. How awesome is that? Yes, you can even select a permanent list of exclusions from your delivery.
In addition, you can log onto their website a few days before your delivery and see what is scheduled for the next bounty. If there is something you don’t like in the next delivery, simply add it to your exclusion list and they will substitute it with something else. That’s awesome!
I have always wanted to join a local farm’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, but it was the cost commitments that held me back. Yes, there is no price on fresh, locally grown produce and supporting local farmers, but I have always shyed away. Now there is an affordable model that works with my schedule and with my tastes in food.
So I signed up and asked how do I pay. They invoice you! It gets even easier. You can pay with a check or with a credit card when they invoice you. They will deliver to you on your designated day and will arrive around the same time each week. Billing occurs monthly.
Go to www.farmfreshtoyou.com and sign up right now. Check out their affordable pricing model and choose a box size that is right for you and your family. There are no long term commitments and if you aren’t satisfied with your order, let them know and give them a chance to make it right. You will see that each box contains 100% organic produce and raised on farms from either Capay Farms or their new farms in Ventura County and the Inland Empire. Support your local farmers.

Hey Foodie! I came back to this to get the promo code and order a box. Could you do Frenzy a favor and add our URL to your sidebar?

I was very excited to find out that FFTY delivered to my address in So Cal. There are some CSA’s that deliver within LA but never to my part of the Valley. As a certified Master Gardener, vegetarian, and someone who supports eating fresh, healthy and local, I was so excited to support this company and help spread the word to other Valley-folk who are unfamiliar with CSA’s. I loved the idea of eating and cooking within season and having to prepare my meals based on what was inside my delivered veggie box. Unfortunately, I did not have as good of an experience with FFTY as I had hoped. My first delivery did not arrive although I did receive a phone call that the driver missed my area and that I would have to wait until the next delivery date. When I did receive my first delivery, I was not impressed at all. The 2 peaches and nectarines were so soft that by the second day they were starting to mold. The lettuce and broccoli were very wilted and the carrots were so tiny that I could have eaten them all in a handful. A friend of mine told me she was not happy with her experience with them either and she had canceled her subscription. I was very heart broken to have to cancel but I just don’t have the money to pay for food to go right into the compost pile. When I called to cancel a few weeks later, it did not make it any better, that I was billed for two boxes although I only received one. I was told that someone in my neighborhood must have stole my box but that I’m still responsible to pay for it. The woman on the phone had no sympathy for my awful experience with them which made me sad knowing my true intensions were to support and encourage their mission. I was, however, credited for the bad produce that I informed them of from the ONE box I did receive. Sad ending to what I had hoped would be a great relationship. I no longer support this company.
