Conde Nast to Shutdown Gourmet and Cookie Magazines
Scott Mindeaux, Editor
In a bold cost-cutting move, Conde Nast publisher of Gourmet and Cookie magazines has decided to shut down these two foodie magazines as well as Modern and Elegant Brides magazines.
According to a press release, 180 employees are affected by this. THey have also stated that Conde Nast remains committed to the Gourmet brand and will continue efforts in its book and tv offerings. Gourmet’s Diary of a Foodie will continue on PBS and as a podcast on iTunes.
There are no plans for any changes at Bon Appetit Magazine also published by Conde Nast.
I will be sad to see Gourmet magazine leave the magazine racks. It has been one of my first cooking magazines I read as a child and to this day leaf thru every page searching for that next new recipe to try out.
