59 viewsI recently entered a contest that was on the EaterLA website. They asked us what one of our favorite moments were from Season 5 of Top Chef. This was my submission. (Note: I came in 2nd place!) Carla and I met back in 2002 and she was one of my favorite chefs and instructors to work with. I was rooting for Carla from the West Coast every week.Every time I watch this clip, I get all choked up – even right now! [smile]
One of the Best Moments is when Carla Hall in the finale and standing before the Judges table and explains why she deserves to be Top Chef:
NOTE: I have made a small movie clip:
“I’ve proven that when I cook my food, it’s really delicious…”
“When I cook my food there’s alot of heart, there’s alot of flavor…”
“Yes, when I make it, yes…”
At this point everyone is taken aback and they are pulled into her emotion, Stefan is even affected and offers consolement…everyone in the room feels for Carla. Later in the green room, Stefan continues to console Carla as he is clearly affected and moved by Carla’s conviction…

heh, actually I was the other Carla runner-up in that EaterLA contest. But looks like you wound up going to that festival and had a great time!…
H.C. Yes I went anyway and it was for a good cause!! I had hoped to meet the winner of the EaterLA contest, but it was no clear who that person was. There was a good turnout.
