Our most recent dinner party was for my oldest daughter's birthday. I made our family's favorite Italian meal of salad, homemade tomato sauce with meatballs, bracciole, and popat (a bread-crumb and egg fried dumpling that seems to be unique to our family). What made it memorable was that both of my daughters' boyfriends were there, and we played a game called Apples to Apples which was a lot of fun. And the food was amazing (if I do say so myself.)

I recently had a dinner party as a thank you for the Sunday School teachers at our church. It was memorable because it was the first time we were all together without any kids! We had a wonderful time chatting and eating.

My last dinner party wasn't very formal. It was more of a backyard BBQ and it was memorable to me because I made some new friends and grilled burgers and hotdogs for the first time! lol Thank you for this giveaway!

My last dinner party was a birthday party and what made it memorable was that a friend who is a pastry chef made individual cakes that had edible flowers on the top. They were both beautiful and delicious.

Belle: Being over zealous can be hard, but I' sure you "chopped" right through it. I need to learn more Japanese dishes.

Ben: Is the Poblano Risotto recipe on your WhatsCooking.us website?

Sandy: It's always a party when it involved Football and Fajitas!

Daniel: Baked spaghetti eh? Think of it as noodl-ey lasagna!

Kim: You didn't tell me about your favorite dinner party, come back and tell me or your entry is not valid

Jennifer: What a great idea assigning each floor a part of the meal! I agree, a progressive party would be perfect in your building.

MMW: What did you have?

Shar: Vodka as a theme eh? That's my daily theme! Just kidding! Did they use Vodka in the Tuna Tartar?

Carlene: Luaus are fun and never go out of style!

Karin: Everyone should learn how to roll sushi. Sushi rolls can be anything you want, not just fish.

Coleen: No particular dinner party comes to mind?

Kurt: I agree, the world does need more dinner parties! Good luck on the kitchen remodel.

Sharon: So what was your last party and how did it go?

Nancy: What a way to kick off the weekend but with the Thanksgiving meal itself! Congrats to your daughter's wedding.

Marci: Home is where the Turkey is. I have often been "homeless" for Thanksgiving and enjoyed being with friends!

K: You can be so creative with Mexican foods! Taco bar, build your own burrito bar, different kinds of meats - so much fun and flavor!

Julie: Just like K's Mexican food bar, Pasta Bars are great too!

Deborah: Tackling food you have never cooked before can be a daunting task, but glad it turned out well in the end. I don't think I have ever had any authentic Russian food, I'll have to check it out.

Chrysa: Happy Birthday to your nephew!

Kerry: OMG! You win the prize for most dinner guests!

My most recent dinner party was also a 1st birthday party for my nephew. I helped my sister prepare food the day before. Everything tasted wonderful and she had really cute decorations to add to the atmosphere. She also made cute cookie envelopes as party favors - they were a hit!

Our last dinner party was in honor of a friend who had just returned from Russia. I made a four-course sit-down dinner of Russian foods from a very old Russian Cooking book I found in a second-hand book store. It was a huge success but so much work that I'd never do it again.

For our last dinner party we hosted family and friends for our daughters 7th birthday. We made 3 kinds of pasta and several sauces and had a big pasta bar with toppings. The kids loved it (and parents too).

I would absolutely love to win this cookbook. The last dinner party I held was back in November when my daughter got married and it was over Thanksgiving weekend, so for the first time in a very, very long time we had the whole family in one place and it was wonderful!

The world needs more dinner parties! Mine are usually BBQ oriented, but we're in the middle of a kitchen remodel so I hope to expand my horizons! The last party we had was the Super Bowl, and we grilled lime-garlic prawns and fresh oysters, followed by thick ribeye steaks. Mmm!

The last "dinner party" was actually a pot luck. It was really memorable because everyone brought exotic and varieties of ethnic foods. There was even sushi and vegetarian dishes. We had so much fun eating and tasting, buffet style.
