Kentucky Fried Chicken. We have all grown up with it and its secret blend of 11 herbs and spices. It’s finger licking good, right?
Well the chain is banking that in the strive to eat healthier, its new Kentucky Grilled Chicken (KGC) will be a hit. On April 27, the chain plans to roll out KGC nationwide. In fact, on that day, KGC will be giving away grilled chicken. Participating restaurants will be giving away one piece of KGC to its customers in hopes of swaying them over.
Serving grilled chicken isn’t something new to the folks at KFC. Several years ago they tried selling a rotisserie style chicken but production line issues and long cooking times inevitably made that model fail. With the help of newer kitchen technologies, KFC has worked to come up with customized cooking ovens that will cook the new KGC.
Cost of the new KGC will be the same as its KFC counterpart. Does this mean KFC is getting rid of the F? No way. The restaurant chain continues to develop new recipes and has no plans to abandon its core item of fried chicken.
