Well, we saw Savannah Supper Club in Costa Mesa close as well as the Savannah’s Chophouse in Irvine and Burbank. Now it’s time for French 75. As reported late last year, Culinary Adventures, who owns these restaurants filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and selling these properties is part of the plan to bring the company back to solvency. Culinary Adventures will continue to operate the last two Savannah Restaurants as they are still profitable.
The French 75 in Laguna Beach has been sold to a new owner and will continue to operate as French 75 but will be rebranded. The French 75 in Newport has been sold to Pascal Olhats, owner of Tradition by Pascal, and will be renamed Brasserie Pascal. In an interesting twist, the current CEO and CFO of Culinary Adventures have a private stake in Pascals new restaurant.
As for the space at the old Savannah’s in Costa Mesa? No word yet, but a new owner is in place and plans to re-open in the next 60-75 days. There are no details on dates of the transition of the two French 75 Bistros.
Incidentally, this also comes just 1 day after Culinary Adventures announces that they are offering the same $10 special they have been running at Savannahs at the French 75 in Newport Beach. Choose from Filet Mignon, Alaskan King Crab or Halibut with a side and vegetable for only $10. The $10 special is not being offered at the Laguna Beach location.
Stay tuned for details!
