I have been highly irritable today. According to my CGMS (Continuous Glucose Monitoring System) I have been running in the mid to upper 200’s today.
When my levels are that high for a long period of time I feel like crap. According to several online websites, some of the symptoms can be:
- Tiredness
- Increased Urination
- Thirst
- Weight Loss (I wish)
- Moodiness (definitely)
- Numbness or tingling in the hands and feet
- Muscle Cramps
I’m definitely experiencing most of the symptoms above. I made it into work today, but I really just wanted to sleep. I’m guessing that having that Banana’s Foster at Savannah last night and that wonderful Baguette from Cream Pan in Tustin wasn’t the best idea.

So now you know how those little treats effect you. Diabetes, type 1 or 2 is very real. I know I was shocked to see the way foods affected me. I have to either say no, or remember to bolus (Dual, Square, normal) appropriately.
For those not on insulin, the meds may have to be adjusted, but this is the tool to help in this.
So what do you think? Please leave a comment!
