25 Years of Rockin’ Good Times
Scott Mindeaux, Editor
Happy Birthday to the Rockin’ Baja Coastal Cantina! This year they celebrate 25 years of soups, shrimp, burgers and salads to sandwiches, tacos, tostadas, fajitas as well as their famous Baja Buckets!
In 1983, Rick DiRienzo, his father Joe and wife Susan created this Puerto Nuevo-themed restaurant in their hometown of Bonita, California. Back then it was called Rockin’ Baja Lobster. The restaurant was a great success and the they have been throwing Rockin’ Baja beach parties ever since!
The name evolved to Rockin’ Baja Coastal Cantina in 2007. There are now five locations throughout Southern California (San Diego in Old Town and the Gaslamp Quarter, Oceanside, Newport Beach and Montclair) with more to come! They also have locations in Austin, TX and Biloxi, MS.
To celebrate their 25th Year Anniversary they are selling their famous Baja Buckets for TWO for $29.95 for the rest of 2009! The Big Baja Bucket comes full of marinated carne asada, grilled chicken, Baja seasoned shrimp and lobster tails. It’s also served with “All You Can Eat” beans, rice, flour tortillas, honey chili butter and fresh salsa and chips bar.
The normal price for the Big Baja Bucket for Two is $25 per person, so it’s almost a half-off deal for the entire year. Orange County is host to one of their Cantinas at the Newport Beach Pier!
