First lady, Michelle Obama announced that have decided to retain Cristeta Comerford as the Executive Chef for the White House. Chef Comerford has been the Executive Chef for the White House since 2005. She is also the first female and first Filipina to hold that post.

The Obamas have considered many for the position including rumors of Art Smith and Rick Bayless taking the reins. After much consideration, the Obamas decided that they like with Chef Comerford’s culinary point of view.

Chef Comerford actually came to the White House first in 1995 during the Clinton Administration. She lives with her husband and daughter in Columbia Maryland.
