Swirls in Irvine Closed?

I have driven by Swirls Yogurt in Irvine a couple of times the last few days and I think Swirls has closed. The lights are out and the chairs are up. There is a note on the door, but can’t read it from the car. It’s possible they are closed for the holiday, but I think that suspect. The company website doesn’t list their Irvine location. Swirls has only been there since August 2008 or so. Prior to that they were called Kiwiberri. However a reported lawsuit from Pinkberry forced a name change.
Swirls was located in the shopping center at Jeffrey and Walnut. There they were neighbors with 99 Ranch, SW Seafood and Shabu Shabu. Across the street is Yogurtland which continues to be packed with customers each day. Everytime I drove by Swirls in the past, it was awkwardly empty. They were located in a dark corner. If it wasn’t for the bright white interior, I would never have seen them to begin with. I never went in Swirls as I was a big fan of Yogurtland.
In addition to frozen yogurt, Swirls also offered non-yogurt products like shaved iced, crepes, waffles, and smoothies. Swirls currently has stores in Costa Mesa, Ontario, Anaheim and Rowland Heights.

i have to say, swirls (irvine) is (was) excellent…really good flavor and super cheap with a small original with 3 toppings included for $2.50…and the servers always gave extra…the sign says they will open again soon, but it’s been closed for about 2 months as far as i can tell…hope they reopen, it’s a nice place and convenient…
