Four years ago when I left Washington DC for Seattle to work for Sur La Table corporate, I left many things behind with my ex. Recently I saw that Thomas Keller’s new cookbook, Under Pressure, was released and in the back of my head, I remembered that I have an autographed cookbook from Thomas Keller. When I worked in DC, one of my kitchen assistants bought me a copy of The French Laundry Cookbook during her visit to the restaurant for which the cookbook is named after. She got Mr. Keller to sign it and I was just beside myself when she gave it to me.

I called Brian recently and he had found my box of cookbooks that he took with him when he moved into his new house. He found my copy of The French Laundry and another French cookbook that I will treasure forever.

I have a signed copy of The French Chef Cookbook by Julia Child. Little by little, Brian will send me a few cookbooks at a time to me here in California. If I end up getting tickets to the Inauguration (I have already written Senator Feinstein), I will be in DC in January and I can bring home the rest. 

I can’t wait!
