Don’t forget the Memory Card

I was snapping pictures of my dinner, had a new lighting setup. The camera was cooperating, the pics in the viewfinder and the LCD screen were gorgeous.
Tonight for dinner I had mushroom risotto and seared scallops. The scallops were huge and I seared them off in butter after dredging them in flour, some salt and pepper. After getting one side with some nice color I flipped them over and got the other side going. A few minutes later I threw in some parsley and thyme then some white wine. After I gave the wine some time to evaporate, I added a nice pat of butter. Turned off the heat and let it finish on its own.
I staged a plate with anice mound of risotto and the scallops just off the mound. The caramelization of the scallops was wonderful. The edges were slightly darker. I chose a shallow wide lipped bowl for my plate. I adjusted the lighting and turned the palte several times until I was happy with the frame. I shot a few shots, changed my angle and did a few more. Then I took closer shots of the scallops. The light really shined off the glistening sauce.
Happy with my pics, I sat down to watch my Tivo’d episode of Heroes. A few minutes ago I hooked up the camera to my MacBook Pro and couldn’t get the pics to show up. I tried it again and no luck. I picked the camera up and hit the PLAY button and the words NO CF CARD was on the screen.
I screamed so loud!!
Lesson learned. Make sure there is film (digital media) in the camera before a shoot.
FAIL!
