I was checking out the Season 5 website on Bravo for the upcoming season of Top Chef and I see that a former colleague and friend is one of the contestants!! I just about screamed at the office!
Carla Hall is one of the most fun, dynamic, people persons I know. Carla and I met when I worked at Sur La Table and she was one of my chefs and instructors. Carla really cares about food from all angles, from history, taste and presentation to how her guests react to her food. She has always had a little bit o’ the South in her and that comes out in her food as well. She has had a catering company in DC for several years now and has worked with some of the best in the DC area!
I lost touch with Carla about a year after I left DC when I moved to Seattle to work for Sur La Table corporate. I will be keeping my eye out for Carla on the show and she is already my Number 1 choice this season!!

Why is it I feel compelled to watch something when there is the slightest connection to my life? Never met the woman – although her Southern style with French sensibilities sounds amazing – and now I have a new show to watch. I’ll be expecting critiques of the episodes, btw.
I’m psyched on the new season in New York City. I think this is the best show that Bravo does. Anyone playing the Last 2 game?
