No Reservations

I didn’t see this movie in the theatres when it came out and I’m sorry I didn’t. Being a foodie, I was anticipating this movie.

Catherine Zeta Jones was not much of a convincing Executive Chef. She is thrown into motherhood by the death of her sister and now must take care of her niece.

The movie has some tender moments but it also brings back memories of food and teaching children how to cook. I was reminded that children want to learn and by involving them in the process, they are more engaged. There was a funny part of the movie where Zoe, the niece, is in the restaurant helping out and she sees her Aunt (CZJ) shaving some very expensive black truffles. She is curious and take a bite of a morsel of truffle. She is disgusted and throws away the truffle in the trash.

I miss working at Sur La Table.  Teaching kids cooking classes was very rewarding.

Below is a picture of a kids class we had when I worked at Sur La Table.

Take a cooking class at Sur La Table at a location near you. They have tons of great hands-on classes as well as kids classes.
